Our Model Steam Rally and Exhibition takes place this year on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July. It is open from 11:00 to 17:00 on both days.
Admission is £7 for adults, £6 for senior citizens. Children under 16 are free. Car parking is free. We accept cash only, not credit cards or cheques.
A site plan, available on entry to the show, will show you the locations of the Information Centre, the First Aid Station, toilets and all the other facilities and attractions available this weekend.
The Model Traction Engine Rally will take place once again in the bottom field with a Grand Parade of traction engines each day at 15:00.
A Model Engineering Exhibition is situated in the large marquee in the top field. Awards will be presented by the Mayor of Guildford at 12:00 on Sunday.
Passenger Carrying Railways will be in operation from 11:00 throughout the weekend. Fares for rides are 50p per passenger. Last tickets will be sold at 16:30.
The Small Scale OO Gauge Model Railway will be in operation in the clubhouse throughout the weekend.
The 16mm Narrow Gauge Garden Railway which is located in the top field near the railway booking office will be in operation. We will also have a visiting portable layout where you can have a closer look at the models being run.
This year the Phoenix Model Marine Club will, once again, be demonstrating their models each day on The Model Boating Pools. There will be a model steam boat display between 13:00 and 14:30 each day. On the second pool, for a modest charge, children will be able to sample the delights of using radio control to try to keep their individual coloured boat clear of the fleet. There is no upper age limit for children at this attraction! (Dads please note). Our thanks to Fred Body for his continued support.
Trade Stands are located throughout the site in both the top and bottom fields, and in and around the clubhouse. Most of the traders who attended last year's Rally will be here again, plus some new ones. Full list of traders.
Light refreshments are available in and around the left hand end of the main marquee. Hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches and the usual cakes are available together with tea, coffee and soft drinks. We have two picnic areas set aside for you to relax in.
If you are interested in taking part in GMES activities and would like to consider becoming a member, you can get further information at the Information Centre which is on the opposite side of the railway tracks to the clubhouse.
If you need help or information please ask anyone wearing the official yellow GMES Rally name badge or look for the yellow signs of the Information Centre.
The First Aid Station is situated at the upper entrance to the site. GMES gratefully acknowledge the work of the Red Cross for the provision of this facility.
Additional Information for disabled visitors.
It is the policy of the Guildford Model Engineering Society to establish and maintain a safe environment in compliance with the relevant statutes and codes of practice. With this in mind, please:
GMES wishes to thank the Guildford Borough Council for the assistance and advice it has given us during our years at Stoke Park. They very kindly provided us with the site in 1958 and have subsequently helped us to improve many of our facilities. We also acknowledge the help and support received from the trade stand holders, visiting exhibitors, caterers, local clubs and societies without whom we would not be able to put on such a good show.
