Guildford Model Engineering Society Ltd., London Road, GUILDFORD, GU1 1TU
Guildford Model Engineering Society is located in the eastern end of Guildford's Stoke Park near the roundabout forming the junction of the A25 and A3100. Access is from London Road. (Link to Streetmap)
Visitors travelling on the A3 from the south west should leave the A3 at the exit for Bagshot (A322). At the roundabout under the A3, take the second exit, A25 Midleton Road. Continue straight on at four traffic light controlled junctions along Ladymead and Parkway. At the first roundabout take the third exit into London Road. The entrance to GMES is the first turning on the right after about 1/10 mile.
Visitors travelling from the direction of London and the M25 should leave the A3 at the exit for Burpham (A3100). Continue straight on at the first four roundabouts. At the fifth roundabout take the second exit into London Road. The entrance to GMES is the first turning on the right after about 1/10 mile.
Visitors to our annual rally and exhibition in July may be directed to (or may choose to use) an overflow car park on the opposite side of the A25, Parkway, between the Spectrum Sports Centre and the roundabout. (Link to Streetmap). Note that there may be a 2m height limit.
The nearest railway station is London Road (Guildford) which is about 10 minutes walk away. There is a connection to Guildford's main station which is in the town centre.
Buses run from Guildford Bus Station in the town centre and stop outside the society’s entrance in London Road. Take the No.36 and ask for the “Burchetts Barn” stop. The No.37 bus does the return journey.
Alternatively buses are available from the town centre to the Spectrum Sports Centre which is about 5 minutes walk away from the society.
On our regular public open afternoons we now have a field available for parking. Turn into Stoke Park at Burchatts Farm Gate, then immediately right again into the GMES site. Continue on, past the railway track and through a gate into a field where there is ample parking.
The spaces near the entrance are reserved for disabled drivers and other specific needs. If you park anywhere other than the bottom field you may be asked to move your car.
At the rally in July there is no parking anywhere on our site. Use either the normal Burchatts Farm Gate or the Northside Gate (on the north side of the Parkway) and park in Stoke Park as directed.
The following photos show the Burchatts Farm entrance to Stoke Park from London Road. GMES is on the right hand side as you turn in.
